UPDATE 4-22-16 2:10PM: Police have cleared the scene and say they've found no trace of an explosive device. Killeen police assisted in the search with a bomb sniffing canine.

A Belton restaurant and nearby businesses were evacuated Friday after someone called in a bomb threat.

According to Belton Police, the call was placed to The Gin at Nolan Creek, 219 South East St., around 12:22 PM. The caller claimed to have hidden an explosive device on the property.

As of 1PM, police had found no such device and were still searching the property. As a precaution, nearby businesses were evacuated and surrounding streets were blocked off.
