Doctors in Austin have noticed a spike in visits at healthcare systems in Central Texas due to a spike in flu cases.

Travis County officials confirmed 11 flu deaths as of January 11th with all victims being age 50 and over.  They also reported 1,200 people have tested positive for influenza.

Officials continue to encourage you to stay away from people with the flu and to wash your hands with anti-bacterial gel. 

Dogs apparently have it bad too!

There has been a rise in dog flu cases that has spread to 46 states across the country.

Canine Influenza can spread by direct contact with other dogs and nasal secretions it can be detected by blood test, but experts encourage you to get your dog vaccinated.
