This week, Focus Features will release, at long last, the first installment of their 'Fifty Shades' trilogy of feature films based on the bestselling novels by E L James. Call us plebs, but we figured that, before we went to see the movie ('cause you know we're going to), we ought to see what the book was all about. Check out our results, below.

If you watched the Grammy Awards last night, then you likely saw a commercial for the N.W.A. biopic 'Straight Outta Compton.' The official trailer for the film can be summed up in one word: promising.

Kid Cudi, who stars in the new film, 'James White,' is sounding off about a gay kissing scene that was deleted from the project.

Every year, when the Oscar nominations are announced, a considerable amount of time is spent debating who was snubbed. But for every film that was expecting to get nominated and didn't, there's a film that no one was expecting to get nominated and did. This is the story of those films. The movies you'll look back on and wonder exactly how the heck it ever got nominated for an Oscar.

2014 is over. (Or, nearly enough to call it so.) But movies never stop. Here are fifteen movies that we're looking forward to seeing in the next year.

It's the end of December, and that means one thing above all others: it's time to unpack everything that happened in the last eleven-and-a-half months and pack it all into tiny lists!

This is it. This is the end. (Not to be confused with one of my favorite films of 2013.) These are the best of the best... at least in my humble opinion. There are many opinions out there, equally valid, which is what makes this fun, right? Anyway, these are mine.

Like the previous list, here I'm featuring movies that didn't make it into wide release, so chances are good that they've slipped under your radar, or fell just out of reach. The difference? I got my hands on these ones, and I loved them.

Of all the movies that come out in a given year, not nearly all of them get wide releases, arriving at a theater near you. And, unfortunately, some of those limited release films tend to be the very best—or, at least, the most interesting—cinema the year has to offer.

2014 saw the release of some really wonderful movies, a lot of mediocre movies, and a handful of true stinkers. These are five movies from that last group. I'm not going to say that they're the worst movies of the year, just that you time would be much, much better spent elsewhere.
