When I think about New Year's celebrations, i normally don't think about taking a train, but The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum has a very unique event going on called: A Venetian Masquerade New Year's Party. The party goes from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., so be sure to bring your party shoes.

The celebration will feature two drink tickets with admission (don't worry you can buy more), hor d'oeuvres, New Year's party favors, a live DJ in the grand lobby of the Santa Fe Depot and of course, a midnight champagne toast.

Classy, cocktail attire is highly encouraged as well as wearing a mask - it is a masquerade ball after all. A limited supply of masks will be available early on in the night.

There will also be a selfie photo area, which will include props and a balloon drop wit $1,000 in prizes.

Tickets are $40 per person, $75 per couple. Museum members will get a $5 discount.

If you're in Temple this New Year's and don't want to 'just go to a bar', A Venetian Masquerade New Year's Party at the Santa Fe Depot might be the unique take on the New Year you're looking for.
