KWTX cites an Associated Press report that a man from Caldwell, Texas was using children as young as five years old to package his meth for distribution.

Charles David Clark, 46, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for distributing the illegal drugs.

Prosecutors in Burleson County reported that Clark was already convicted last week on a charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance. At Clark's trial, evidence proved that he had his children and other children packaging up the drugs.

The conviction for the charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance usually results in a penalty of up to two years in a state jail. Due to multiple previous drug convictions, District Court Judge J.D. Langley was able to hand Clark a far longer sentence.
