Central Texas Woman Murdered in SUV Outside Home, City’s First Murder of 2016

An autopsy report shows that Unekeyia Shanta Walker who was found dead on Feb. 4 died of homicide by strangulation and blunt force trauma. 

Before she went missing for 2 days, she left her children with a family member. 

She was found dressed in jeans, but one of the legs had been removed and the other was torn.

During the autopsy, pathologists found slight evidence of strangulation on her neck, the murder in this town marks the first the city has seen in 2016. 

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
