Fiat Chrysler announced earlier this week that they are recalling almost half a million medium and heavy-duty Ram trucks due to a water pump issue that could cause a fire.

There are no known injuries related to the issue affecting 2013 to 2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs.

According to a press release, by Fiat Chrysler, "an FCA investigation discovered certain trucks are equipped with a water-pump bearing that, after exposure to certain conditions, may overheat and potentially cause an engine-compartment fire" the press release also says "Compromised water-pump function may activate a warning light in an affected vehicles instrument cluster".

 

All customers who own these vehicles are urged to consult their dealers when they see warning lights and if there are any questions call the FCA U.S. Recall Information enter at 800-853-1403
