The Ruff Ryders 20 year reunion show went down last night (April 21), at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The mighty clique, who rose to prominence in the late 1990s, put on a show, with performances from Swizz Beatz, Eve, Cassidy, Drag-On and The Lox. Special guests included French Montana, Fat Joe and Remy Ma. The nostalgia was thick. But at least one aspect of the show didn't stand the test of time as DMX struggled through his set.

Dark Man X had a rough time getting through parts of his show, with the rapper seemingly gargling indecipherable sounds that were supposed to be rap lyrics at times. The Yonkers rapper was noticeably not 100 percent there. "DMX is standing on a speaker and he definitely has some substances in his body," one concertgoer wrote on Twitter. "This crowd is stressed for his safety."

In the middle of his set, Earl went on a Kanye-like rant about the demons he deals with. "Respect me to be your fucking role model, 'cause I ain't your father," he told the crowd at one point. "You can count on me for the truth uncut. I put my life on that."

DMX was recently announced as the headliner for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. Along with X, The Lox, Dreamville’s Bas, Cozz, Omen and OSHUN will be performing, as well as an exclusive guest DJ set by Mister Cee and legendary DJ duo Stretch & Bobbito. Earl might want to work on his set before then.
