I-35 construction continues in Central Texas, and yet another long-term closure has been announced.

TxDOT's Jodi Wheatley issued the following traffic alert Friday afternoon:

On Thursday, March 8 at 7 am (weather permitting), the FM 1237/Pendleton Rd crossing (exit 306) under I-35 will close for two months, to allow the contractor to demolish the old FM 1237 bridge, install new drainage, and build the new crossing and Texas turn-arounds under I-35.

Eastbound travelers on FM 1237/Pendleton Rd needing to go north will detour onto the southbound frontage road and U-turn at Berger-Hart Rd. Travelers on the northbound frontage road needing to go west or south will stay on the northbound frontage road and U-turn at the new South Troy crossing (Love’s Blvd.).

Travelers are encouraged to obey all warning and detour signs.

Below are some maps to help travelers visualize the area and the alternate routes so they can plan appropriately.
