Four soldiers are dead after a helicopter crashed during a routine training mission on Fort hood Monday evening.

A UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter crashed in the northeast portion of the post’s range nearest to Gatesville around 5:50 PM. Emergency crews dispatched to the scene said four soldiers aboard the craft were dead when they arrived.

The soldiers’ names will not be released until 24 hours after notification of their families. The four were assigned to Division West, First Army.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation Tuesday morning.
