Prodigy's death has sent shock waves through the hip-hop world. With the airing of the 2017 BET Awards coming up tomorrow (June 25), organizers are planning on putting together a last minute tribute for the late Queens rapper involving rhyme partner, Havoc and Lil' Kim.

According to TMZ, Hav and Queen Bee were recently added to the lineup to present awards. With the passing being so recent, BET execs were unable to put together a stand alone tribute. Instead, Havoc and Kim will reportedly pay their respects by sharing some kind words about the late MC. Hopefully, the show will be able to move some things around so we can at least get a lit tribute performance of the "Quiet Storm" remix.

Prodigy passed Tuesday (June 20) after losing a life-long battle with sickle cell anemia. Afterword, his publicist released the following statement: “It is with extreme sadness and disbelief that we confirm the death of our dear friend Albert Johnson, better known to millions of fans as Prodigy of legendary NY rap duo Mobb Deep. Prodigy was hospitalized a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis. As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth. The exact causes of death have yet to be determined. We would like to thank everyone for respecting the family’s privacy at this time.”

Fans, rappers and celebrities have recently taken to social media to show love for Bandana P.

The 2017 BET Awards show will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sun., June 25 at 8 p.m. EST.
