Hoops Star Shereka Wright Comes Back To Copperas Cove

Shereka Wright dazzled crowds with her all star play as a member of the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs in the late 90s.

Wright, went on to have a stellar 4 year basketball career at Purdue and played 2 seasons in the WNBA.

She doesn't travel back to Central Texas often, as she is now the Assistant Coach and recruiting coordinator of The University of Alabama Women's Basketball team.

So returning home was a treat for her, as she talked to a crowd not about basketball, but about the importance of education. 

The Copperas Cove Education Foundation event featured a silent auction and has raised more than $25,000 in previous years.

According to their website, their mission is to enrich and enhance educational opportunities for Copperas Cove students through community involvement and support.
