On Sunday (June 19), the 2016 NBA season came to end, and so too did the engagement between Iggy Azalea and Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young, as Iggy posted the above note to Instagram announcing the split. The high-profile couple had been on shaky ground ever since a video of Young, recorded in secret by teammate D'Angelo Russell, came to light, showing Young speaking rather casually of his attempted and successful pick-ups with women other than Iggy, who became his fiancée in June of 2015.

"Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him - It’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to," Azalea wrote. "I genuinely wish Nick the best. It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page." As for Young's public comment, a single tweet saying "Single" was published Sunday evening and is included below.

As recently as mid-April, Iggy had confirmed that she and Young were still together, writing on Twitter, "“For the record, I haven’t broken up with Nick. We are together and I would love a little (a lot) of privacy on the matter." A few days prior, Azalea was spotted without the 8.15 carat yellow diamond engagement ring Young had given her, leading to speculation.

What was perhaps the biggest indication of the two not entirely being on the same page (besides the video of Young all but confirming that he cheats) was a TMZ-captured moment in which Iggy calls Young out for not wanting to splurge on the wedding. “He doesn’t want to pay for shit, okay?” she said, a curious notion considering the engagement ring reportedly cost half a million dollars, and Young is owed over $5 million in each of the next three seasons.

For a couple caught in scandal, it would appear that Azalea and Young did their best to repair the damage done by the leaked video recording, but it amounted to too much. Read Iggy's Instagram note up top.
