Based on the restaurant's "level of performance" at its Copperas Cove location, the company chose not to reopen the store in an announcement made Friday.

The store located at 901 E Business 190 were one of six Jack in the Box restaurants corporately taken over after franchise owners failed to meet building, maintenance and brand standards, therefore violating their franchise agreements.

In a statement Brian Luscomb, the vice president of corporate communications and government affairs for Jack In The Box said:

“After we stepped in and took over the operations of 31 formerly franchised restaurants, we thoroughly assessed each location. Based on that restaurant’s level of performance, we chose not to re-open it, “We deeply apologize to our guests in the area for the inconvenience and hope to see them at one of the re-opened locations—Killeen is only 10 miles away!”

Jack in the Box plans to sell the Copperas Cove location.
