More than 10 years after the infamous Nipplegate controversy at the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show, Justin Timberlake will be making his return to the stage, but without Janet Jackson.

It was previously reported that Timberlake would be the main act performing at the upcoming Super Bowl LII halftime, but now, a new report claims Jackson is open to joining the singer again. According to Entertainment Tonight, a source said, "The door is wide open... If Justin or his team did reach out, Janet would perform with him again in a minute."

While it's unclear if Jackson really wants to perform, an NFL spokesperson shot down any talks of a ban. "There's no ban... We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we're excited to have Justin Timberlake."

In September, reports claimed JAY-Z had turned down an offer to perform during the halftime show but the NFL also fired back at those reports, saying, "No decisions have been made on the performer(s) and we are not going to speculate on particular artists. Along with Pepsi, we know that we will put on a spectacular show. When it is time to announce her name we will do it. Or his name. Or their names."
