October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the City of Killeen is partnering with Metroplex Health System and All-American Chevrolet to host a 5K walk Oct. 17 starting at 8 AM.

Registration for the walk at Andy K. Wells Hike & Bike Trail (2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd) is $25 and includes a t-shirt and event packet. Breast cancer survivor will also receive a survivor bag. Funds raised will benefit mammography at the Great Killeen Free Clinic.

Packet pick up for the walk will take place Friday, Oct. 16 from 4PM to 7PM during a Health Day event at the Killeen Arts and Activities Center (801 N. 4th St.). The Health Day event is free and open to the public and will feature onsite registration for the walk, as well as health awareness information and refreshments. A Gospel Praise for a Cure concert is scheduled from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased by calling 319-3385 or 501-7815.
