Killeen Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting on Covey Lane

Killeen police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning.

Officers received a report of a shooting victim in the 1300 block of Covey Lane at 2:51 AM.

When they arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to this leg. The victim told them he was standing outside his home when a blue sedan approached. The victim heard a gunshot from inside the car and began running. Another gunshot sounded, and the victim felt a pain in his leg. The sedan then drove away.

The victim was taken to Temple's Baylor Scott & White Hospital in stable condition. He was unable to give police any details about the shooter.

The shooting was still under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
