The Migos demand respect. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, the Atlanta trio expressed their frustration with not getting credit for all they've contributed to hip-hop. Quavo said this lack of esteem was the reason they chose Culture as the title of their new LP

"We need the world to respect us," Quavo said. "They consume a lot of hits and just act like it wasn't... I ain't never seen nobody make these many hits and not get notified for it. And change the game like we did and bring the flow to the game the way we did and not get noticed for it, like the the big way - the real system way. I feel like us coming out saying the culture, it just made everybody look and be like, 'What these young niggas talking bout?' And then at the same time, we right, but it's some boldness on it. So, I feel like we just stand on our toes and we the culture. We brought so much to the game."

The sentiment does have some truth to it. Despite having many popular hits, it took Donald Glover shouting the Migos out at the 2017 Golden Globes to allow them to book a late night television gig. And while the "Migos flow" became huge in hip-hop, the group was unable to hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts or earn a platinum plaque until their single "Bad and Boujee" blew up over the past few months.
