Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is officially en route to prison.

On Tuesday morning (Jan. 15), the Jersey Shore star, who was sentenced to 8 months in federal prison for tax evasion, announced his surrender via a live stream video.

On Twitter, he asked friends, family and fans to write him while he's in prison, sharing a mailing address where he can receive letters.

"The comeback is always greater than the setback," he wrote in another tweet.

Sorrentino's attorney, Kristen Santillo, confirmed to TMZ that Sorrentino would turn himself in today. He will begin serving his time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York immediately.

Sorrentino was sentenced to 8 months back in October. He is expected to be out of prison in October 2019.

Back in November, Sorrentino wed his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Pesce, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.
