One Dead After Apartment Complex Fire in Temple

A fire marshal is investigating an early morning fire at a Temple apartment complex that left one person dead Wednesday.

The Temple Fire Department was called to the Marland Place Apartments at 1810 Marlandwood Road around 1 AM. While clearing units, they found an adult badly burned and unresponsive. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

16 units were reportedly damaged by the fire. Marland Place's management staff has arranged for displaced residents to stay at nearby hotels.
