California prison officials are not feeling Prodigy’s latest book, Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook. While the book features quick-and-easy recipes on the cheap, it was recently banned by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

According to TMZ, authorities sent a letter to Prodigy’s Infamous Books Publishing company to inform him that his cookbook has been placed on the “Centralized List of Disapproved Publications” and it will not be distributed among the prisons in California. The reason why is because there’s a recipe on how to make homemade liquor. Of course, officials don’t want inmates manufacturing alcohol in prison, so you can understand their concerns.

Prodigy probably didn't realize that his book would be distributed in the prison system. But the book isn’t all about recipes, Prodigy details his time behind bars and how cooking created a genuine camaraderie among the other prisoners.

“It helps people get along,” he told NPR. “Sometimes if you’ve got a group of people in there that are cool with each other, we’d order a chicken [from the commissary] together or make a dinner.”
