Texas Woman Murdered in Church by Man Dressed as Police Officer

A 45-year-old fitness trainer and mother of three was found dead in a Texas church Monday morning, and surveillance footage reveals a man dressed as a police officer roaming the halls around the time she died.

Students of Terri “Missy” Bevers' Camp Gladiator fitness class discovered her body inside Midlothian's Creekside Church around 5 AM. (Midlothian is about 25 miles southwest of Dallas.)

Surveillance footage shows a man walking the halls of the church in police tactical gear around the time Bevers is believed to have died. Investigators found evidence of a forced entry and think Bevers may have walked in on a burglary.

Detectives have not said how Bevers died, but they told KTVT-TV the suspect assaulted Bevers and left her lying unresponsive.

Police said nothing appeared to have been stolen from the church, but that there was a substantial amount of damage inside.

Bevers leaves behind three girls ages 8, 13, and 15.
