There has been a fair amount of controversy coming Snoop Dogg’s way ever since he released his visuals for “Lavender,” originally recorded by BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada. First, Senator Marco Rubio expressed his disdain, then Trump’s lawyer, and now he’s getting the attention of Donald Trump himself.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Trump tweeted in response to the video, which shows a clown version of Trump being shot by Snoop.

The video is actually a commentary on police violence, and was directly inspired by the death of Philando Castile, who was killed by a police officer last summer, sparking outrage and protests across the nation.

“The ban that this motherf—er tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill motherf—ers and get away with it; people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and motherf—ers that’s not black on the streets making money off of it — but if you got color or ethnicity connected to your name, you’ve been wrongfully accused or locked up for it, and then you watching people not of color position themselves to get millions and billions off of it,” Snoop told Billboard about the video. “It’s a lot of clown sh– going on that we could just sit and talk on the phone all day about, but it’s a few issues that we really wanted to lock into [for the video] like police, the president and just life in general.”

Of course, fans have had much to say about Trump’s latest Twitter spar, pointing out that he once suggested that “2nd Amendment people” act against Hillary Clinton back in August during the campaign, so his outrage is hypocritical.
