Two people say they were attacked and robbed by a group of men at Lions Club Park Monday evening.

Killeen PD Commander Erich Morsbach said Wednesday that officers were dispatched to Metroplex Hospital in reference to an assault that reportedly occurred around 8:20 PM at the park.

The victims said they were preparing to leave the park when they were approached by a group of 3 or 4 men. The men followed the victims to their car, attacked them as they tried to get in, then stole a backpack and fled.

The attackers were described as African-American men wearing sweatshirts, hoodies, and basketball shorts.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the crime, the suspects, or the stolen materials to contact Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477 or online at bellcountycrimestoppers.com. Information can also be submitted via the P3tips app.

Information submitted to Crime Stoppers is anonymous and confidential, and could net a cash reward of up to $1,000 if it leads to an arrest.
