Wiz Khalifa is causing a lot of controversy over his visit to Colombia. The Pittsburgh rapper took a trip to the country this past week, where he decided to visit the grave site of the late drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar.

Khalifa brought flowers to the grave site, posted several photos of his visit on Instagram, and promptly found himself the subject of outrage. While the photo of the flowers at the grave has been removed from Instagram, the rapper is still being bombarded with negative comments over his actions.

The mayor of Medellin, Federico Gutierrez, gave his thoughts on the MC's visit.

"That scoundrel, instead of bringing flowers to Pablo Escobar, he should have brought flowers to the victims of violence in this city," Gutierrez said. "He must offer an apology to the city."

Gutierrez said that Wiz bringing flowers was "disrespectful," and that he would not be welcomed back to the city. Other citizens commented on the matter as well, saying that what Khalifa did was "embarrassing" and that he showed a lack of respect for the victims of the former war.

Some people did come to the rapper's defense however, calling critics of Wiz hypocrites for supporting the Netflix show Narcos, which is based on the life of Escobar, and still calling out Khalifa on his actions.

"Colombia fills its pockets making series about the life of Pablo Escobar, but are indignant when Wiz Khalifa take him flowers #hypocrites," says the above post.

Wiz has yet to comment on the controversy.
