Documents obtained Tuesday reveal more information about the April 19 murder of a fitness instructor at a Midlothian, Texas church.

According to a search warrant obtained by Dallas-Fort Worth NBC affiliate KXAS-TV, 45-year-old Terri "Missy" Leann Bevers suffered puncture wounds to her head and chest consistent with tools the suspect was carrying through Creekside Church of Christ the morning of the murder.

The warrant confirms that the suspect captured in security footage was carrying a hammer, breaking windows and going through offices. That hammer and other tools from the church were found near Bevers' body.

Police initially said they were searching for a male suspect, but now say the can't be sure of the suspect's gender. (Comments on social media indicate the public suspects a woman.)

Police also said Bevers may have interrupted a burglary, but now say there's some evidence that Bevers - who advertised a fitness class she taught at the church - may have been targeted.

Bevers arrived at the church shortly after 4 AM on Tuesday, April 19 to prepare for a Gladiator Fitness class scheduled for 5 AM. Police believe she was attacked by a suspect clad in police gear mere moments after entering. Her body was discovered by students shortly after 5 AM, and she was pronounced dead by a Justice of the Peace shortly afterward.

Bevers' mother-in-law, Marsha Tucker, recently penned an open letter to the suspect.

A letter to the Murderer of Missy Bevers:

Do you even realize what you have done to her daughters, husband, our whole family? Was it really worth it? Why did you think this was so necessary?

You know who you are! Your husband/wife and family members know who you are. They know your "special" walk. Right now, they are as guilty as you are, by not coming forward! I honestly pray you do not have children. My granddaughters at least have the knowledge, their mom was a kindhearted, loving, caring person. You have now ruined your children's life, along with your family's life by doing this senseless act. We can at least visit Missy at her grave site, even though we have the comfort of knowing Missy is already in heaven. Your children will get to visit you in prison, forever reminded of your crazy, senseless act. What a legacy you have doled out to your family! I will be praying for all of them.

I truly feel worse for your family, than mine. Please, come forward!! Give yourself peace, give our family peace. Give some honor back to your family!

We will forgive you, because we know and you know, that is what Jesus has commanded us to do.

Marsha Tucker

Police are hoping the "special walk" mentioned in the letter - the suspect's unique gait and mannerisms - could help someone viewing surveillance footage to identify them.

Oak Farms Dairy has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and grand jury indictment of a suspect. Anyone with information about Bevers' murder is urged to call the Midloathian Police Department's tip line at (972) 775-7624 or Ellis County Crime Stoppers at (972) 937-7297.
