An Escaped Juvenile Prisoner Was Found at the Old Walmart in Temple
Chances are that if something rowdy, weird, or crazy is going on in your town, it's happening at Walmart. It's just some sort of unwritten law of the universe.
Rosemond Crown with our news partners at News 10 reports that Temple police were able to capture an escaped state juvenile detention center prisoner at the old Walmart Thursday afternoon.
Officers rushed to the store at 3401 South 31st Street around 5PM after receiving reports of a teenager it was believed may be armed. They located the 16-year-old escapee and took him into custody. Thankfully, they didn't find a gun in his possession.
The young scofflaw wasn't alone, though. Another 16-year-old boy was also detained by police after being found with narcotics.
Both the escapee and the drug suspect were transported to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center in Killeen.
I don't know what it is about Walmart. Maybe it's just the fact that it just has everything, you know? When you're bored with nothing to do, you can just wander the aisles, play around with some of the merchandise, people watch, and maybe even pick up a few things you didn't know you needed.
It reminds me of those bazars and markets in ancient cities where people would congregate and talk about what's going on in the empire, only these days we don't really talk to people outside our group at Walmart. Maybe that should change. Imagine the wild conversations you could have with random Walmart people.
...
Okay, nevermind. Maybe we should just keep to ourselves.
