I am a single momma to a very energetic 11-year-old son and two very needy but adorable shelter dogs, Dallas and Texas. I was born and raised in El Paso and I am a proud UTEP graduate. I started my career in radio 10 years ago and made the move to TV news where I was a Weather anchor and General assignment reporter for over 7 years at KVIA-TV. I’m still a part of the TV news world as I provide El Pasoans with their weekly dose of feel good stories every Sunday for my KVIA Sunday Funday Moment Segment. I am very involved in our community, especially with our youth. I have been a substitute teacher and private music instructor for young kids. Music was my first passion so being able to teach young kids about the beauty of music was something that meant a lot to me. I am the founder and executive director of a local non-profit organization, Mija, Yes you can. I am an advocate for empowering women in our community as well as an advocate for promoting the importance of talking about our mental health. I am a board member for The National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) in El Paso, Texas. I LOVE to talk and have plenty of experience with public speaking for both young students and for adults. When I’m not on the radio or TV or when I’m not yelling at my son to pick up his room I am instead forcing my son to record TikTok videos of me because I am obsessed with social media! I enjoy using my weird sense of humor to make people laugh or cringe while scrolling through their news feeds. It’s a nice break from all the hard news.
