Hear Christina Aguilera’s Love-Struck Ballad ‘Shotgun’ From ‘Nashville’

Christina Aguilera is unleashing her country side as Jade St. John on ABC's hit drama Nashville. She already killed it during her first appearance on the show, but if her forthcoming song "Shotgun" is any indication, her best is yet to come.

We'd already previewed the gorgeous ballad via a leaked snippet and, later, during Xtina's live performance at the 2015 ACM Awards on April 19. But now the full song is available. Hear it in the stream above.

The song's title might seem like the name of a rip-roaring anthem, but the downtempo tune is actually a sad love song. "It's a hard road, honey / And there ain't nobody I'd rather be next to / It's a rough ride, baby, but we're gonna make it together / Me and you / When you're tired, I'll grab the wheel / And you take over when I'm done / Love is taking turns / Riding shotgun."

The singer, who plays Jeff Fordham's ex-fiancée on the show, previously unleashed her epic pipes and established her character's sassy side during her performance of "The Real Thing" on April 15's episode.
