At a news conference on Tuesday (April 29), NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued a lifetime ban against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his racist remarks, which emerged earlier this week due to a taped phone conversation. Silver also slapped him with a $2.5 million fine and recommended that others owners force the sale of the team.

"I am banning Mr. Sterling for life from any association with the Clippers organization or the NBA," said Silver.

This is welcoming news for members of the hip-hop and sports community who were outraged by Sterling’s disparaging remarks of African-Americans and other ethnicities in a conversation with his former girlfriend V. Stiviano.

Rappers Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Homeboy Sandman, Steve Stoute and Game have voiced their opinions on the situation.

Adam Silver was praised for his actions by Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Ludacris and several NBA players through Twitter.

Meanwhile, Diddy went on his timeline to announce that he was interested in buying the Los Angeles Clippers.

"I will always be a Knicks fan, but I am a business man. #DiddyBuyTheClippers #NameYourPrice," he tweeted.
