Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a fire that damaged the roof of the ER Carpenter building in Temple early Sunday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to the building at 2502 North General Bruce Drive at 1:29 AM. Upon arrival, they saw smoke and flames issuing from the roof of the building. They were able to quickly determine that the fire was confined to the center of the roof, and had the fire under control by 3 AM.

Thankfully, the building was not occupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

As of late Sunday morning, fire marshals were still investigating the cause of the blaze.
