No one celebrates America's Independence Day quite like we do in Texas.  The Texas Brazos Trail, a Central Texas tourism organization, is encouraging you to explore what the CTX area has to offer.  From parades and fireworks, to rodeos and pepper eating contests, the CTX offers a wide variety of 4th of July activities.

In order to help you make plans for the holiday, the Texas Brazos Trail has highlighted some of the events going on in the region.

A Townsquare Media sponsored event is Belton’s Fourth of July Celebration, which includes a parade downtown, BBQ, a festival, carnival rides, a fireworks display and the PRCA Rodeo (July 3-6).  Named one of the best parades in the nation by USA Today, the Belton celebration continues to awe scores of people celebrating our nation’s independence.

Fort Hood and Killeen will celebrate with the Freedom Fest, another Townsquare Media sponsored event, includes: a free carnival, fifty-gun salute, miniature stock car racing, fishing pond, climbing wall, inflatables and many more activities for the whole family.  The event will finish with a dazzling 30-minute fireworks display choreographed to the tunes of patriotic music.

Temple will host its Family Fun Fest in Miller Park, complete with a fireworks display, live music and fun activities for the entire family.

Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park Frontier Days Celebration includes a parade, fireworks, carnival rides, a jalapeno pepper eating contest, a reenactment of the Sam Bass shootout, skydivers and a performance by the Austin Symphonic Band.

Georgetown’s 4th of July celebration in San Gabriel Park also includes fireworks and a parade, as well as a petting zoo, train rides and over eighty booths to visit.

Waco’s Brazos Nights presents Fourth on the Brazos, a live music event that will include fun for the kids, a corndog eating contest and fireworks over the Brazos River.

Giddings will serve up some of its world-famous BBQ, hold a live and silent auction and also have a fireworks display.

Mexia will start off the day with a bang with its Firecracker 5K Run and Walk, and continue the day with it and HEB Kid’s Karnival and Mexia Car Show. There will be a pet parade and fireworks aplenty with the SkyFire 2013 fireworks show.

The George Bush Library and Museum will host the I Love America celebration put on by the College Station Noon Lions Club. There will be free admission to the library all day, with concessions and live music outside, then a hot air balloon glow, a performance by the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, and fireworks in the evening.
