An innocent woman who was watching her nephew was shot and killed by a police officer in Fort Worth over the weekend.

According to WFAA early Saturday morning, Fort Worth Police responded to a call from a  neighbor who saw the front door open to the house where 28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson and her nephew were playing video games.

The neighbor pointed out that he called non-emergency and not 911 because he didn't think there was an emergency,  and just wanted police to do a wellbeing check.

According to body camera footage, after police arrived the officer didn't follow police protocol and shot her from outside through the window.

Here is the raw video police released:

Jefferson, a Xavier University grad who studied biology and chemistry was playing video games with her nephew when the police officer shot her through the window.

This story comes two weeks after Amber Guyger, a Dallas cop who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for allegedly entering the wrong apartment and killing an innocent man.

As I write this, I tear up, a little.

This did not have to happen to this innocent young lady.

We will keep you updated on this story.
