After nearly two months of living under shelter-in-place orders and emergency declarations, many Texans are itching to reopen the state's economy.

Governor Greg Abbott has started the process of easing Texas back into some sort of normalcy while trying to keep COVID-19 safety top of mind. As of midnight Friday, retail businesses initially deemed non-essential were welcome to reopen with a temporary "retail-to-go" policy - offering their goods to customers if those goods can be picked up curbside or delivered. Healthcare facilities were also allowed to resume elective procedures on April 22nd if those procedures met certain criteria.

Today at 2:30 PM, Gov. Abbott is expected to provide more details on plans to open up the Lone Star State. The Texas Tribune reports that Abbott will hold a live news conference from the Capitol Building. They report that KXAS-TV will stream the conference. You can keep an eye on Gov. Abbott's Twitter account as well. His team usually streams news conferences on that platform as well.
