Spoilers ahead if you missed it, but the local guy walked away with a TON of cash.

Keep Scrolling to Check Out Highlights from Damon's Win

If you missed it yesterday, I talked with Damon Sayles who was born right here in Wichita Falls in 1976. He lived here until he was a sophomore in high school and it has been his dream for a long time to compete on Wheel of Fortune. If you want to check out more of Damon's story, check it out here.

Check Out Some Highlights From Damon's Game Last Night

So last night on the show, Damon had the opportunity to do something that has only been done FOUR times in the history of Wheel of Fortune. Back in 2008, they introduced a one million dollar wedge that is in the middle of the bankrupt space. Damon held that one million dollar wedge the entire match. Now the key to getting that one million is on the bonus mini wheel. The $100,000 check, is replaced with a one million dollar check.

Damon's Bonus Round

This is where Damon found out if he was getting the one million dollars. However, he did have to solve the puzzle of course. Damon chose the category of "What Are You Wearing?" Contestants get the letters of R-S-T-L-N-E in the final round, then you get to pick three consonants and a vowel. Damon went G, M, W and O. He got every letter on the board except for TWO. Damon correctly guessed the answer of Glamorous Gown.

At this point we found out Damon didn't pick the right check on the mini wheel for a million dollars. He got the $40,000 check, bringing his grand total winnings to $69,290. Which does include a trip to Barbados. Congratulations to Damon on one of the best games of Wheel of Fortune I have ever personally seen. This guy knows his puzzles.
