City officials estimate between 100 and 200 structures were damaged when a tornado touched down in Temple, Texas on Wednesday, May 22.

The City of Temple hosted a press conference this (Thursday, May 23) morning urging residents to stay home unless absolutely necessary as first responders are on the scene.

Parts of West Temple and South Temple sustained the heaviest damage, and first responders have restricted access to the Lakepoint and Lakepoint Terrace areas while recovery efforts are underway.
