It's always great to see a local kid go on to big things. Travis Sanders has a chance to do just that.

Big League Dreams

Pretty much every kid who has played sports dreams of growing up one day and being the star of the team. Whether it's hitting the game winning homerun or throwing the game winning touchdown, these are the dreams that drive kids playing ball at all levels. From little league to high school sports and if you're good enough, maybe you can score that scholarship that carries you through college.

Not many get a chance to play at the pro level but for those that do, there has to be a beginning. For the kids hoping to play Major League Baseball, hearing their name called in the MLB Draft is a great way to realize that dream.

Major League Baseball Draft

The 2022 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft just wrapped up in Los Angeles on the July 19 and one Central Texas teenager was among the many who saw a dream come true, to be drafted by a Major League Baseball Team.

Big congrats to a future Boston Red Sox shortstop, Travis Sander who was drafted 429th in this years draft.

Travis Sanders

Sanders played shortstop for Coppers Cove High School and has verbally committed to playing college ball at Texas Tech University. According to Blogging the Red Sox, Sanders was named to the First Team All-State shortstop by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association his Junior year of High School. His senior year of 2022, he was named the 12-6A Offensive Player of the Year.

The future is bright for this young man and soon enough he'll be playing at Fenway Park in Boston.
