San Antonio, Texas Independent School District is mourning a child being murdered just steps from the school they attended following a brawl that turned into a shooting between children ages 14 to 17. The police have zero suspects or descriptions to go off at this time besides the knowledge that it was a large group of teenagers involved only minutes after being dismissed from Brewer Academy on Merida Street.

About 2 PM on Wednesday immediately following dismissal at the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program building better known as Brewer Academy, the San Antonio Police Department responded to a call of a group of seven or eight students that were only about a block east of the school grounds when a fight broke out that escalated to a shooting.

There are any number of scenarios that could have developed over the course of this scrum, but authorities believe one person in particular was being ganged up on, and eventually a gun was used to shoot and kill 14 year old Simon Julian Cuevas III on the spot.

According to this KENS 5 article, investigators do not believe there is any additional threat to the safety of the public, but as of their report, not one of the suspects involved in the incident has been identified, including nobody being named as the shooter. The school district also reported that no altercations happened during the school day to indicate something like this would happen.
