Worries about the overall building health of the Temple, Texas mall have prompted action by the city. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

Unease About Temple Mall's Infrastructure Prompts Response

Many in the city of Temple have had anxiety about the Mall in the city. At the beginning of the year, the shopping center was dealing with water issues. Following the water problem, some even thought the mall was officially closing its door.

The mall has indeed seen new businesses make its way in though, so growth is indeed happening. But with all this growth comes changes in the areas themselves, which includes normal wear and tear over the years. This wear and tear has caught the attention of the city.

Announced recently, the building is set to undergo safety inspections. But what does it entail?

Temple Mall Safety Inspection Details

According to KCEN, the inspection will involve these individuals and are happening at the time of this article:

- City building inspectors
- Code compliance officials
- Fire Marshal
- Representatives from the Bell County Public Health District

Spokesperson for the mall and owner of Peggy's Coffee House, Rob Brandenburg, told KCEN the mall will need everyone's help following the examinations:

"For the community, they could know this is not the fault of any businesses in the Temple Mall...These businesses, many of them small and local, are part of the community in multiple ways and will need the full support of our community once this is resolved."
