Two Killed in Two Separate Traffic Accidents In Temple and Belton, Texas
The last couple of weeks have seen several traffic crashes in Bell County. Unfortunately there are a couple more to report, and both were fatal. One death was reported in Belton on Tuesday and another in Temple early this morning.
Lake Road Fatality
According to a City of Belton press release, the Belton Police Department responded to a multi vehicle accident on Tuesday, August 30 at about 3:17pm on Lake Road. The accident involved a maroon Dodge Dakota and a silver dump truck.
The two vehicles collided causing the maroon truck to roll onto its roof and catch fire. One person was killed and another taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center for treatment. No serious injuries were reported from the occupants of the dump truck.
The crash is being investigated by the Belton Police Department Crash Team.
Temple Hit & Run
An early morning hit & run in Temple leaves one man dead and authorities searching for the driver of a white pickup that hit him.
According to a Temple Police Department press release, Temple PD responded to a call shortly after midnight on Wednesday, August 31 in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the area of S. 1st St and W. Ave P.
Responding officers found a man laying in the street. EMS arrived and began life-saving measures. The man would later die from his injuries.
Witnesses on the scene said a white pickup truck struck the man then drove off.
