Homeschooling has been a challenge to say the least. This lock-down has given me new respect for the men and women who teach our kids everyday.

COVID-19 may have cut short the 2020 school year, but teachers across the great state of Texas continue to teach and be there for their students.

As reported by KXXV, Channel 25, Crista Marie Privott-Spencer has been nominated as a "Texas Teacher of the Year 2020" finalist. Privott-Spencer is a 3rd-Grade Teacher at Willow Springs Elementary in Killeen ISD, and was nominated by her colleagues for the outstanding work she does.

Six teachers from across the state of Texas are finalists for this years honor and you can vote on who you would like to see win the $5,000 grand prize. Cast your vote on the Texas Teachers of Tomorrow website. This year's winner will be announced on Friday, May 8, 2020.

To all the teachers out there continuing to educate and inspire Central Texas kids, we thank you. It's never easy under the best circumstances, so we wish you and your pupils all the best as we near the end of the academic year.
