A man suspected of dealing drugs from a Killeen hotel room is behind bars.

Police arrested 32-year-old Terrence DeLawrence Cooper last week after performing surveillance of the Fairfield Inn in the 200 block of East Central Texas Expressway. The manager of the hotel called police Wednesday and voiced suspicion that Cooper was dealing drugs from his room. He’d observed Cooper coming and going from the room several times and meeting individuals in the parking lot, seeming to make exchanges.

After surveiling the room, police approached some individuals leaving the room. As police neared them, one man shouted, “Police. It’s the police.” Officers entered the room and saw Cooper run to the bathroom and pull a plastic bag from his pocket.

Police found three bags of suspected cocaine in the room, but did not specify the total amount. Cooper was arraigned Friday with bond set at $30,000.
