Man Arrested in Killeen After Threatening to Kill His Girlfriend

A 25-year-old Chicago man was arrested in Killeen Saturday after threatening his girlfriend with a handgun.

Tommy Leroy Atkins and the woman became involved in a heated argument at a home in the 300 block of Currie Avenue Friday night. Police say the argument culminated in Atkins brandishing a gun and threatning to shoot the woman.

Atkins was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is the Bell County Jail on $100,000 bond.
