Two people are in the hospital after a man ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle in Killeen Monday morning.

Police told our news partner KWTX that a 51-year-old woman was headed east on Central Expressway shortly before 1 AM when a 24-year-old man driving a pickup ran a red light while heading north and crashed into her.

The woman was trapped in her car and had to be pulled out by rescue workers. She suffered lacerations to her head and was airlifted to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

The pickup overturned and the young man was taken to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen with minor injuries.

According to KWTX, police are still investigating the crash and are not ruling out alcohol as a factor.
