5 Years Without the King of Pop

I was in the car listening to the radio when I heard the tragic fate of one of our most beloved musical icons. I remember tuning to TV stations to double even triple check if it was actually true, there was no way he was gone. As my search drew to an end I realized that this was real; Michael Jackson has died. That is a day I will never forget, as if he were my own family member, and yet I’m sure you could say the exact same thing. As today marks the fifth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, I don’t want it to be sad reminder of the suddenness of it, but a remembrance of why/how he deserved the title: The King of Pop. From Jackson 5 to one of the many insane chart toppers, in particularly “Thriller” or “Billy Jean,” to his smooth (criminal) moonwalking, it’s easy to say he will not be easily forgotten. His musical talent soared and gave concert a whole new meaning. So take a moment, listen to one of his songs or watch one of his stunning music videos and remember what an impact the King of Pop had on the music world. RIP Michael Jackson.
