Several residents of San Antonio, Texas are still on edge after a massive police shootout occurred, and resulted in seven members of law enforcement suffering gunshot wounds of varying degrees of severity. According to this KVUE article, the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas initially reported only four officers with the San Antonio Police Department were shot, but as the story developed the number confirmed injured grew to seven.

Brothers and sisters in blue from other Texas law enforcement departments were quick to offer their thoughts and prayers, and the most recent information is projecting all seven will make full recoveries, and as many as six officers have already been released from the hospital.

The suspect in the shooting barricaded himself for several hours after exchanging gunfire with several officers, and SWAT responded by eventually breaching an apartment where 46 year old Brandon Scott Poulos was found dead after several hours of negotiating.

According to witnesses that also live in the Sonterra Heights complex, the conflict began around 8:30 PM last night, and several series of gunshots could be heard throughout the neighborhood.

"When we go out to the balcony, we hear a bunch of helicopters. And then 20 seconds after we were out there, we heard more shots."

At this time, the community remains thankful that all officers are expected to recover, and the only life lost was that of the suspect.
