A Piece of Radio History Posted on Facebook

This was posted a couple of days ago on Facebook and I had to laugh and share.

Let me tell you about Mike Butts. He gave me a chance to learn radio from a Radio Legend. I think the clip is from 1987 if my memory serves me. I was his Intern for years until I got my own show from 12am to 5am which he helped me get and advised me though the years.

Even after my show I would stay over and help produce the show or hit the streets like a reporter, give out free breakfast or have listeners do contest along the streets of Austin. It really was so much fun I even wore the Bee costume. Yes, I was the B93 Bee a couple of times.

So when I head the clip I was surprised to hear Mike's comedy clip featuring me as the caller named Reggie. My very first radio bit and it was with B93's Mike Butts in the Morning! I was so proud to be part of that Morning Show. It's just funny that of all the clips to ever be recorded and posted of Mike Butts in the Morning, I happen to be the other person on the phone.

I sound really young and really weird. It's really a special time for me. Mike Butts is the main reason I have been in radio this long and why I am here at B106. Keeping it REAL, B106 Real Hip Hop & RnB.
