Kara Carlson of The Austin American Statesman reports that online retailer Amazon has plans to add over 600 tech-focused jobs to central Texas.

The company recently expanded it's North Austin tech crew with an 800 hiring expansion announcement in March. An additional 300 part-time and full-time employees were hired in June at the brand new delivery station in Austin.

The new tech positions included software developers who would work on the Alexa app. (just a friendly reminder you can listen to the station on Alexa)

Amazon is one of the richest companies in the world with a market value close to $900 billion. With multiple offices and warehouses in Austin and San Marcos central Texas is becoming the center of the world, where every large organization wants to be.

Growth is good, but we can slow down a little too. Click here to remind yourself of the importance of small towns in Texas.
