August Alsina's Testimony album may have been released last year but the singer is still being rewarded for crafting a stellar debut project.

The New Orleans native's first LP has earned him R&B Album of the Year in the 2015 The Boombox Fan Choice Awards. Alsina walks away with over 82 percent of the fans' votes.

Featuring the banger "I Luv This S---" and the Nicki Minaj-assisted ode "No Love," Testimony showcases Alsina's knack for penning poignant lyrics over a blend of soulful, head-nodding beats. His loyal supporters, who helped the crooner win the award, know they can turn to him for his versatility -- he goes from heartfelt to sensual all on one album.

Alsina competed against Sam Smith's In the Lonely Hour, Jhene Aiko's Souled Out, Pharrell's G I R L and Trey Songz's Trigga, among others. Ten artists filled the category but only Alsina scored the big win.

Take a look at the percentage breakdown in the R&B Album of the Year category below to see how August Alsina fared compared to the rest.
