
Texas Deportations Now Triggering Protests In Austin
Elections results in Texas are often much more interesting than the races because you can generally always predict which candidate will win based entirely on the district they are seeking a seat. Heavily blue ward or county, you are likely looking at a very dominantly Democrat run municipality, and as you span out to statewide level elections and national seats, you will see an overwhelmingly majority of Republican office holders.

Deportation and splitting up families is always going to be a very contentious subject, but if I were in a country illegally, I would gladly accept the deportation over incarceration. No two people's story is the same, but avoiding jail, being sent back to my country of citizenship, and maintaining a status of being welcomed back to the United States through legal channels sounds a lot more appealing than prison.

I truly hope that families will find ways to stay together, and that each case will be judged on its own individual circumstances. I imagine a whole lot of paper work, and long over due forms will be getting expedited in the coming days as getting current on authorized resident status will be everyone's highest priority.

In the meantime, I certainly hope that everyone can continue to assemble and disagree in a civilized and legal manner because after all, we are the United States of America.
